Appreciative of your honesty here! The part about modeling risk and discomfort especially resonates. In a way, I feel us moving to Singapore was our version of that, and whenever/wherever the next place is would be a continuation of modeling what it means to embrace the unknown. In so many ways that’s precisely what my season of life is right now, and I can only hope as my kids get older and notice my grumbling and restlessness and questions more and more, that they find courage in being curious, being unsure, and being sensitive to the groanings of their own spirit. That they can befriend the mystery and tension of that, because they’ve seen their parents do it too.
oooooh, I love that line, "befriend the mystery and tension." That captures exactly what I'm hoping we can begin to help understand as we go through this period of change. Sometimes we have to shake ourselves out of our own comfort in order to know what we're truly capable of. Thanks for sharing this, Miguel!
Sounds like a brave new world before you! Thank you for sharing your insightful thoughts!
It’s gonna be an adventure for sure! We are feeling all the things! Thanks for the kind words!!
Stepping into uncertainty is when you feel most alive! It may not always be easy, but it will be transformative.
I look forward to hearing which way the wind blows for you.
p.s. I lived in Bedok for two years a very long time ago. Singapore has a sweet spot in my heart.
What a small world!! We are up in woodlands near the school.
Yeah - this is going to be an adventure for sure and like you said transformative in ways we can’t even anticipate yet!
